Structured Approaches to the Treatment of Clinical Dissociation
Many of our staff have expertise in structured therapeutic approaches to working with dissociation. With dissociation, a very common response to traumatic experiences, parts of the self get separated from our dominant sense of ourselves. These parts may hold traumatic memories, intense traumatic feelings, and often a version of the world developed in childhood that is no longer accurate in our lives. Several different approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Ego-state Therapy among others, have been developed that in a safe and structured way develop communication among all parts of the self, which is an essential part of healing.
